"SLA responsible for VVT killings" - LTTE

Mr.C.Ilamparithi, LTTE Jaffna district political head in a statement issued Saturday said that the Sri Lanka Army should be held responsible for the brutal killing of two innocent Tamil youths in Valvettithurai on Friday evening as this dastardly crime had taken place in an area which is surrounded by several sentries and mini-camps of the Sri Lanka Army (SLA).

He questioned how armed men carrying weapons could move about in an area where SLA soldiers are conducting street patrolling frequently.

"It's a premeditated killing. How can the killers escape from the notice of the SLA soldiers located in the area within one hundred meters from the scene of crime", he asked.

Immediate action should be taken to stop killing of innocent Tamils. Persons responsible for the Friday's killings should be brought before justice. Hopes of Tamil people who are yearning for permanent peace and justice have been shattered with such killings. The current peace environ is threatened by such killings, said Mr.Ilamparithi in his statement.
