TRO provides relief supply to Sinhala victims in Trincomalee

Tamil Rehabilitation Organization (TRO) provided relief to victims in two Sinhala settlements in Trincomalee town, which were badly hit by last week Tsunami. 23 families numbering 95 members in one settlement, Koriyawatte located close to Trincomalee bus stand and to 75 families numbering 328 members in another area. Division No 10 were provided with rice, sugar, flour, dhal and tea, TRO sources said.

TRO Project Director Mr.Jeha handed over the relief materials to Sinhala Tsunami victims. 193 Muslim families who are located in shelters in the villages of
Vellaimanal and Palaiyootru were also provided with relief materials by the TRO. 209 families who sought refuge in camps at Trincomalee St.Mary's College, Valaiottru and Manaiyaweli were provided with relief items. About 150 volunteers of TRO are working round the clock in providing relief to Tsunami victims sheltered in schools and camps at Kuchchaveli, Puddaivaikattu, Anpuvallipuram, Chelvanayakapuram, Eachchilampathu, Verugal and Government Technical College, sources said.
