Tigers attack homeguard, SLA posts

Two home guards were killed when the Liberation Tigers attacked their forward defence post at Sampitty in the Amparai district at 12.50 a.m today, said the Voice of Tigers in its night broadcast.

The Liberation Tigers also recovered some arms and ammunition, including assault rifles from the post, it said

The radio also said that the Liberation Tigers attacked a SLA defence post at Ottamavadi bridge at 2.20 a.m.

Arms and ammunition were recovered from here as well, though SLA casualty figures were not known, it said.

One LTTE fighter, Suthami (Alahaia Vasanthan, Batticaloa) died in the attack, the VoT said.

A woman fighter of the LTTE, Mayilvili (Thiyaharatnam Tharshini, Kilinochchi) died in a clash with the SLA in Moonrumurippu on Monday, the VoT said further.
