Asian Football Federation officials visit Kilinochchi

Officials of the Asian Football (Soccer) Federation led by its Vice President Manilal Fernando visited Kilinochchi Monday and had an hour long discussions with Head of the Liberation Tigers Sports Wing, K. Pappa at the Planning and Development Secretariat (PDS) offices Monday, LTTE sources from Kilinochchi said.

Soccer OfficialsDirector of PDS, Thuyavan, and Senior Member of the LTTE, V Balakumaran, joined Pappa in the discussions.

The Asian Federation officials carried a message from the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) that FIFA is willing to provide financial support to build 175 houses for tsunami affected families in the NorthEast and to construct an International standard sports center fitted with modern sports equipment.

Prior to their visit to Kilinochchi, the Asian Football Federation officials visited Jaffna where they met several sports officials and donated several thousand dollars worth of sports goods.
