Ms Helene Fors, acting head of the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM) in Trincomalee Thursday evening held discussions with Mr.S.Elilan, Trincomalee district political head of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), about the recent incidents affecting the Ceasefire Agreement (CFA) in the district, SLMM sources said.

The meeting was held at the LTTE district political secretariat located in Trincomalee town, sources added.

Complaints made by the LTTE regarding the attack on its Poonagar camp in LTTE controlled area in Eeachilampathu division on 8th April by a group of persons in army uniforms said to have come from the direction of the Mahindapura Sri Lanka Army camp and few days later on Kilathimalai LTTE sentry point were discussed in detail, LTTE sources said.

Counter complaints made by the Sri Lanka Army that LTTE cadres had fired towards its camps at Mahindapura and Thoppur violating the ceasefire agreement also came in for discussion, sources added.

Mr.Elilan, requested the SLMM to consider demarcating a no man zone in the sea area near the LTTE controlled shores in the Trincomalee district. SLMM is reported to have replied that it would hold discussion with the other parties concerned regarding this matter, sources further said.
