Woman's skeleton found in Kudathanai

Skeletal remains of a middle-aged woman was recovered by workers when they were removing sand in an area located near an abandoned Sri Lanka Army (SLA) camp in Kudathanai village in Vadamaradchchi east Division in Jaffna district Friday, Police said.
On receipt of information the Point Pedro Magistrate Mr.K.Ariyanayagam
visited the site accompanied by the District Medical Officer
Dr.K.Kathiravelupillai and the Point Pedro Police, legal sources said. Initial medical reports said the age of the deceased woman could be between 25 and 40 and the death could have occurred within a one and a half year period. Two poles suspected to be used for killing the woman were also
recovered from the graveyard with the skeleton. Two fingers of the right hand of the woman were found to be missing, sources said.
