Mannar Magistrate inspects damaged LTTE political offices

Mannar acting Magistrate, Mr.M.B.Farook, accompanied by a police team Sunday morning visited the two offices of the Liberation Tigers which were attacked by suspected members of the Eelam People’s Democratic Party (EPDP), Saturday night.
On a complaint made by the LTTE official attached to political office at the Mannar Police, acting Magistrate inspected the sites and instructed the Police to submit a report regarding these attacks. Mr. Arunthavan, deputy political head of LTTE in Mannar district and Ms Nilavarasi, Deputy Political Head (women wing) of Mannar district took the police team and showed the damages caused to political offices. The acting magistrate further instructed the Police to arrest those behind the attack and produced them in court. A police team led by Mannar-Vavuniya SSP, Mr T M Tennekoon, also visited the sites in Mannar Sunday and began seperate investigations into the attacks, sources said. The LTTE’s political office located in Mannar-Talaimannar Road and the organisation's administrative office located in Mannar Moor Street had been heavily damaged in the attack, sources said.
