Inquest held into Kumburupiddy death

Inquest into the death of Muthiah Rasa (20) of Kumburupiddy village, north of Trincomalee district was held Friday in the Trincomalee General Hospital (GH) by the acting Magistrate Mr. M.K.Sellarajah. The security forces handed over the body of the deceased to the Trincomalee GH Thursday night and admitted another youth Thangarajah Ketheeswaran (25) with gunshot injuries.

However soon after the clash villagers who sought refuge in Kumburupiddy Methodist Church had reported to civil leaders that two youths of their area Muthiah Rasa and Ketheeswaran were missing. At the inquest held Friday a relative of the deceased identified the body as of Muthiah Rasa, a mason by profession in the village. After post-mortem examination hospital authorities handed over the body to the relatives of the deceased, hospital sources said.
