Kilinochchi district Special Commissioner, Pon. Nithianthan, speaking at the event said, "We appreciate the gesture of the bank in offering the loan to meet the urgent need of the traders. The legal process to determine compensation will take time and this would have placed a heavy burden on the families of the traders."

Special guests, Kilinochchi district LTTE head of political wing Mr Sivanath, SEDB Commissioner K Prabhakaran, Mr Sivapalan from Kilinochchi district Renaissance Movement presented the loan documents to the affected traders.
