State media calls for blood donors

Sri Lankan state owned radio stations and television networks announced this evening that the central blood bank is in need of blood and will be opened from 8 a.m till 8 p.m tomorrow in order receive blood from donors.
Meanwhile reports from Jaffna said that the army has sent fresh reinforcements to the Elephant Pass base. The SLA comandeered four busses belonging to the transport board yesterday and used them to send fresh troops today the reports added. Other busses and tractors were also used to transport troops and military hardware. Two weeks ago the entire 514 brigade stationed on the islands off the Peninsula were sent to the Elephant Pass base. The Voice of Tigers said that the Tigers have resisted the SLA advance from Kilinochchi and the fighting continued till the evening. The radio, however, did not give further details.
