TRO to celebrate its 20th anniversary

Tamil Rehabilitation Organization (TRO) is planning to have competitions to raise awareness on social service among people to mark its twentieth anniversary of services to poeple of NorthEast. Assistance of government agents of the districts, heads of government departments and universities in the northeast province, will be sought in organizing the competitions, said Mr.S.Rajagopal, Co-ordinator of the TRO 20th Anniversary Committee in a circular.
Competitions would be concluded before the end of January next year. Best local non-governmental organizations and pre-schools selected by a board will be awarded with certificates for their services to the public. Individuals selected for their creative activities will also be honored, said Mr.Rajagopal. Conditions and other details of the competitions could be obtained from the Co-ordinator of the TRO 20th Anniversary Celebration Committee who is stationed in Killinochchi. The dates and places for the competitions would be announced later, the circular adds. Competitions will be held at the levels of university, school, Grama Sevaka division, education zones, divisional secretariat divisions, children homes, fisheries divisions and local non-governmental organizations in the northeast province, sources said.
