Three civilians killed

Three civilians, including a mother and her 7 year old son were killed and 8 others were wounded in a Sri Lankan Air Force bombing raid and SLA's shelling at Solainakar in Konavil in the Kilinochchi district, yesterday, said sources close LTTE in Europe when contacted by TamilNet.

The names of those killed are: V.Vijeyalakshumi, 34, V. Rajeevan, 7, and Thirunavukarasu Parasakthy, sources said.

Three of the wounded, V. Tharshini,13, V.Tharshan,12 and V.Tharshika,11, are children of Mrs. V.Vijeyalakshumi.

The other wounded are: M.Paskaran, Veluppillai, M.Kamala, J.Mekala and E.Rohinithevi.

The wounded were taken to the Akkarayan Hospital and later to the Mallavi hospital, the sources said.

Several houses were also destoryed in the airraid and shelling they added.

In a similar attack on Suthanthirapuram in the Mullaitheevu district on June 10, atleast 26 civilians were killed and 50 others were wounded.
