Parents of abducted TRO staffers on protest journey to Welikanda

Parents of five of the seven abducted humanitarian staffers of the Tamils Rehabilitation Organisation (TRO), on Wednesday, set off on a journey through Welikanda area in search of their sons and a daughter, relatives of the kidnapped humanitarian staffers in Batticaloa said. The families have decided to camp at a Hindu Temple in the Welikanda area until their family members are released, the sources added.
"The families of the disappeared, due to their frustration with the slow progress and lack of communication from the authorities, have taken it upon themselves to search the Welikanda area for camps of the paramilitaries," a relative of an abducted accountant of the Tamils Rehabilitation Organisation (TRO) said. The TRO & PSEDC staff still being held by the paramilitaries are:
- Mr. Arunesarasa Satheesharan, Accounts Trainee, Vellavali
- Mr. Kailayapillai Ravindran, Accountant, Vipulananda Children's Home, Palugamam
- Mr. Kasinathar Ganeshalingam, PSEDC NorthEast Province Secretary, TRO Director
- Mr. Shanmuganathan Sujendram, TRO Accountant, Manikkavasahar Children's Home, Santhivelli,
- Mr. Thambiraja Vasantharajan, Accountant, TRO Batticaloa
- Mr. Kathirkamar Thangarasa, Driver
- Mr. Thanuskody Premini, TRO Batticaloa Chief Accountant
