Sarvodhaya holds Peace meditation campaign in Trincomalee

Sarvodhaya Movement of Sri Lanka held a peace meditation campaign in the Trincomalee esplanade on the third day of the four-day workshop Saturday evening held for about six hundred youths from all the twenty administrative districts of Sri Lanka, civil society sources said. Dr.A.T.Ariyaratne, leader of the Sarvodhaya Movement said his organizationis planning to hold a mass prayer with peace meditation campaign in Anuradhapura soon.

Peace procession coming to Trincomalee.
The workshop began Thursday at the Trincomalee District Sarvodhaya office located at Alles Garden in Uppuveli area. The workshop aimed to promote better understanding and trust building between the youths of all communities towards achieving lasting peace in the island, Sarvodhaya Movement sources said. Mr.Mohan Samarawickrema, North East Governor Saturday afternoon participated in the workshop. He said that the development of NorthEast and rest of Sri Lanka critically depends on the success of bringing permanent peace. He commended the Sarvodhya for creating an environment for the success of the peace process, sources said. Thereafter a procession led by Dr.Ariyaratne began from Alles Garden to Trincomalee town. Hundreds of youths participated in the procession, which arrived in Trincomalee esplanade, sources said. Religious leaders of all faiths blessed the event, sources said. Dr.Ariyaratne emphasized that the people could save the country from disaster by developing their spiritual power by holding peace meditation and promoting national harmony.
