Heavy Rains Continue

Heavy rains continue to lash the Sri Lankan capital Colombo and Puttalam said meteorology department officials in Colombo.

Several hundred thousand rupees worth of salt has been washed away from the Puttalam salt fields, said sources.

Meanwhile flooding has been reported in the southern town of Galle where 136 mm rainfall was measured yesterday..

The water mark is upto 5 feet in some places there, said sources.
