LTTE retaliates SLA artillery fire - Elilan

Sri Lankan Army (SLA) launched artillery fire on a forward defense line of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) located at Navalady in Muttur area Tuesday morning around 9.30 a.m. The LTTE cadres successfully retaliated the attack, said Mr.S.Elilan, Trincomalee district political head of the LTTE. Navalady is located between Muttur east to Ralkuli, a territory controlled by the LTTE.

SLA commenced its attack around 9.30 a.m from an islet close to the LTTE controlled area. SLA stopped firing at about 10.30 a.m.following LTTE retaliation, Mr.Elilan said.

A civilian who was crossing the lagoon sustained injuries in the army firing.
