STF finds body

The body of Ilaiyathamby Selvarajah (27) of Thambattai, near Tirukovil, 60 km south of Batticaloa, was found by the police and the Special Task Force (STF) on Wednesday putrefying, said sources in Batticaloa.

Selvarajah had gone into the jungle to cut firewood on July 20 but not returned.

His body was handed over by the STF to the Akkaraipattu Hospital where Dr. Chithra Devarajah, who performed the autopsy, said he had died of gunshot wounds.
