One SLA trooper dead and three injured in Claymore attack in Vantharumoolai, Batticaloa

Unidentified persons exploded a Claymore mine on the Kaluvankerny Road in Vantharumoolai Friday around 12.45 p.m targeting Sri Lanka Army troopers on duty near the Railway track killing one on the spot and seriously injuring three, said Eravur police.
M. Tilakaratne 34 is the SLA trooper killed and his body is kept at the Chenkalady hospital. The Claymore mine was fixed on a Mango tree near the Railway track, said the police. The place of attack is 7.5 km from Vantharumoolai SLA Camp and 2.5 km from Kaluvankerny SLA camp, said sources in Vantharumoolai. Vantharumoolai which comes under Earavur police division is located 14 km north of Batticaloa town and Kaluvankerny 3 km south of it.
