10,000 graduate from self-defense training in Mullaitivu

More than ten thousand residents of Vanni villages took part in a graduation ceremony completing self-defense training at the Lt.Malathi Sports ground in Puthukkudiyirruppu in Mullaitivu, Sunday, sources from Vanni said. Graduates wore red-bands and stood in training formations for men and women.

In the event presided by Pongu Thamil co-ordinator Vinthan, LTTE' Head of Women's Political Wing, Thamilini, lit the flame of sacrifice. LTTE's Head of Education Section, and Senior LTTE member, V Ilankumaran, hoisted the Tamileelam flag.

LTTE commanders Col.Ramesh and Col.Soosai gave special speeches to the graduating members.
