Tamil youth shot dead in Allesgarden

Unidentified men shot dead a Tamil civilian, Mr.Gunarasa Thevan, 34, at Puthukudiruppu in Allesgarden, a suburb about 3 km north of Trincomalee town Wednesday afternoon around 1.45 pm. police sources said.

Initial reports said two persons who came in a motorbike had called the deceased outside his house and had talked to him. Thereafter they shot him in the head and fled from the scene.

The death was instantaneous, civil sources said.

Police rushed to the scene and began inquiries.
