Claymore blast injures police sergeant

A Sri Lankan Police Sergeant was injured in a claymore blast at Saalambaikulam, about 7 k.m., west of Vavuniya on the Mannar road, around 7:30 a.m., Sunday, police in the northern town said.

The clymore was fixed to bicycle, targeting the police patrol, they said.

The injured policeman was brought to Vavuniya hospital. He was later transfered to Anuradhapura hospital.
