One SLA soldier killed, another injured in Vadamaradchi

Unidentified men attacked a Sri Lanka Army (SLA) sentry point located along the Vathiry- Uduppiddy road in Navindil, Vadamarachchy Jaffna district, killing one SLA soldier, and seriously injuring another around 10:00 a.m. Monday, sources from Jaffna said.
Although reports say that the injured soldier had succumbed to his injuries, this has not been confirmed by the SLA The attack which took place in the broad daylight in a densely populated area has shocked the Military command in Jaffna. The attack lasted for more than 20 minutes and the attackers escaped unharmed, according to sources. The camp was used by the Sea Tigers until 1995 when Jaffna district came under control of the SLA. Meanwhile, a similar attack targeting a sentry point took place Saturday, in Thikkam, in Vadamarachchy region.
