NGO worker reported "missing" in Jaffna

A local employee of the international humanitarian de-mining organization, Halo Trust, has been reported "missing" in Jaffna since last Friday. Eleven Halo Trust workers have been either reported "missing" or killed during the past 6 months.

Nagarasa Narenthiran, 27, of Temple road, Nallur went to work as usual to the head office of Halo Trust situated at Nallur Cross road, Friday morning, his wife told the Human Rights Commison in Jaffna. He never returned home, the wife, Sarojini Narenthiran, stated in the complaint. Meanwhile, Kanapathippillai Kirushnapavan, 35, a family man, who went to see his abandoned house situated near a Sri Lanka Army camp in Thondamanaru in Vadamarachchy, Sunday, has not returned home, according to a complaint made by his wife with HRC office in Jaffna. His wife told the HRC officials that his motorbike, the key of the house and some clothes were seen at the entrance of the house.
