"The humanitarian situation in the areas of Tamil homeland under the occupation of Sri Lankan forces is deteriorating. Our leadership has therefore appointed a spokesperson to bring the issues to the focus of humanitarian agencies and the media," said LTTE's Director of Peace Secretariat, S. Puleedevan. Ms. Selvy has taken part in the negotiations as a member of the LTTE delegation and has represented the LTTE in it's meetings with foreign diplomats and representatives of humanitarian agencies since the establishment of the Peace Secretariat of the LTTE.
