SLA cordons, searches Kondavil, Tellipallai areas

Sri Lanka Army (SLA) soldiers cordoned off and searched Kondavil, Mallakam, and Tellipallai areas located north of Jaffna town Saturday morning starting at 6:00 a.m soon after the expiration of the overnight curfew, local residents said.

Soldiers entered residential houses, and examined National Identity Cards of residents, sources said.

Several road blocks were placed along Jaffna-KKS Road near the towns where the troopers checked the documents of all passers-by.

Students attending tuition classes and workers travelling to their places of work were subjected to delays in pursuing their activities, residents said.
