3 youths shot dead in Jaffna

Three youths, one in Thenmaradchy, the other two in Pommaiveli and Kondavil within Jaffna Munipality limits, were found shot dead, Thursday night, sources in Jaffna said.

The youth shot in Thenamradchy was identified as Tharmaratnam Uthayasangar, 19, a student from Kudaniyan, Varani. Unidentified armed men shot him dead at his house around 7:00 p.m, according to residents of the area.

The other youth shot dead in Pommaiveli, a suburb of Jaffna, was identified as Sivapathasundaram Vijithas, 27, the father of one child from Kokuvil, married at Pommaiveli. His body was found dumped near his wife's house.

The third youth, found shot dead in Annankai area in Kondavil was identified as Arasalingam Robinson, 18. He was stabbed to death and burned with kerosene.

The Vijithas and Robinson were working as motor mechanics in a repair garage at Five Junction in Jaffna town from where both were abducted Thursday evening by unidentified armed men.
