Claymore mine found in Wattala, seven persons arrested

A claymore mine weighing about 10 kg was recovered from the third floor of a building in Wattala, a town in western province Thursday on information received by the Sri Lanka Police, security sources said.

Bomb disposal squad of the Sri Lanka Army rushed to the site and cordoned off the area. The bomb disposal squad diffused the mine, security sources said.

In a combined search operation conducted in the area the police took into custody seven persons, most of them are Tamils and are being detained and interrogated, sources said.
