Tamil businessman abducted in Colombo

A leading Tamil businessman in Colombo was abducted by unidentified armed persons in a white van at Perera Lane junction along Galle road in Wellawatte while he was walking along the road around 8:30 p.m. Monday, his relatives lodged complaint at Wellawatte Police, sources in Colombo said.

Rajaratnam Rajapathy, 24, owns a textile shop 'Jeyachchandran Textiles' at Galle road, Wellawatte.

Eyewitnesses said that armed persons who came in a van with the registration number of 252- 7285 abducted the businessman.

Relatives of the businessman informed Mano Ganeshan, Member of Parliament for Colombo district and the Leader of Western Peoples Front, the details of the abduction.
