TNA MPs offer support for Jaffna abduction Boycott[TamilNet, Wednesday, 09 May 2007, 16:39 GMT]The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) parliamentary group in a statement issued to the press Tuesday night, said they would join the peninsula wide school boycott, if the four Jaffna district high schools students abducted by armed men Friday were not released before Wednesday. A consortium of private educational institutions in Jaffna, in a memorandum released Sunday, urged the abductors to release the students and accused the Sri Lanka Army (SLA) for complicity in the abductions. A number of student organizations have appealed to the students for a peninsula wide boycott of schools beginning Wednesday, warning the boycott will continue indefinitely until students are released. Escalating student abductions will lead to the closure of educational institutions, civil society sources in Jaffna warned. Chronology: 07.05.07 Two civilians abducted in Jaffna
