Disabled man abducted at Pa'ndaiththarippu

Unidentified armed men in a white van forcibly abducted a disabled family man Friday around 3:45 a.m at Kalaivaa'ni Road area in Pa'ndaiththarippu, according to complaint registered by his wife with Human Rights Commission (HRC) Jaffna office. Meanwhile, an auto driver who disappeared on 4th May, after going to Kokkuvil Sri Lanka Army campy for interrogation, was released by the SLA after being severely tortured in detention at the SLA camp, according to his wife who reported the return of her husband to HRC in Jaffna.
Theiventhiran Ragunathan, 36, of Vadaliyadaippu was the person abducted from Pandaitharrippu. Displaced from his home due to Sri Lanka Army (SLA) offensives, Ragunathan had been living with his relatives at Kalaivaani road. Thurai Tharmalingam, 38, the auto driver released Friday by the SLA is from Raasa Veethi, Kalviyangkaadu. The Kokkuvil SLA camp officials had earlier denied that they arrested Tharmalingam when approached by his wife, according to her complaint to the HRC.
