Negombo police arrested a Tamil youth, resident of Vavuniya within two weeks after his release by the Colombo Fort Magistrate Mr.Namal Bandara Ballele on May 30, sources in Negombo said. The youth was earlier released after a report submitted to courts by Kollupity Police that the suspect was not involved in any terrorist activity while staying in Colombo.
Kollupity Police took Emmanuel Nesarajah, father of two children into custody while walking along a road close to Presidential House in Colombo. Emmanuel Nesarajah came from Vavuniya to Colombo in search of employment. He went to Negombo after his release by Colombo court. But the Negombo Police took him to custody Monday in a search operation and he is being detained in the station to find out whether he is involved in illegal activities, police sources said.
