Balasingaham Suresh, 21 shot and seriously injured Tuesday by two armed men at Mudamaavadi junction at Nalloor Koayil Road in Jaffna Tuesday evening, succumbed to his injuries at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Jaffna Teaching Hospital Friday morning, medical sources at the hospital said.

Suresh was a resident of Sivan Koayilady, Thirunelveali.

Following this shooting two unknown armed men on motor cycle shot dead a student of Jaffna High Tech, Thanikaasalam Sasiroopan, 25, Thursday at the same place where Suresh was shot.

The Technical College Student Union (SU) said they will continue to protest against the killings of students by paramilitary armed men operating with the Sri Lanka Army (SLA). They also said they will meet with other civil society leaders to explore ways to highlight the need for safety of students.

Meanwhile, Jaffna Campus undergraduate students boycotted lectures Friday, protesting against the murders of Deluxan, 22, a young media student at Jaffna University Media Research and Training Centre, Wednesday and Sasiroopan, the student of Jaffna High Technical College, Thursday.
