SLA detains two in cordon, search of Vadamaraadchi village

Sri Lanka Army (SLA) troops conducted an extensive cordon and search operation in Polika'ndi East, in Vadamaraadchi Saturday beginning from 4:00 p.m till 9:00 in the night, sources in Vadamaraadchi said.

During the five hour operation, a large number of youths including woman and young married men were escorted to a nearby temple for questioning

After interrogation by SLA two were detained over night for further investigations.

Further details of the detainees are not available.

SLA has been conducting frequent search operations recently targeting fishing villages from Tho'ndamaanaa'ru, Valveddiththu'rai up to Munai, and Katkoava'lam areas on the northern coast of Jaffna Peninsula.
