Tiger boat destroyed - SLN

Sri Lankan Navy (SLN) said a boat belonging to the Liberation Tigers was destroyed and two other boats were damaged by them last night in the seas off Chaalai, north-east of the island.

SLN headquarters spokesman, Cpt. Jeyasinghe said their boats made a surprise attack on the LTTE boats around 1.50 in the early hours of the morning on November 17.

The fighting went on for three hours and the navy did not suffer any casualties he added. He further said LTTE casualties were not known.
