Body of family man found in Vavu'natheevu

Vavu'natheevu police recovered the body of a family man with gunshot wounds Wednesday near Koththiyaapula Kaa'li Koayil in Vavu'natheevu police division in Batticaloa district.
The victim was identified as Kunarathinam I'langko, 37, a fisherman and the father of 4 children, from Koththiyaapula. Unidentified armed men arriving at I'langko's house Tuesday around 7:30 p.m abducted him and shot him dead elsewhere, police said. I'langko may have been killed because of the connections he had with the Special Task Force (STF) located at Thaandiyadi, local residents said. I'langko's body was handed over to his relatives after inquest into death held at Batticaloa Teaching hospital where it was taken to Wednesday morning.
