Court releases four Tamil youths from Boosa camp

The Colombo Chief Magistrate Tuesday ordered the release of four Tamil youths who had been kept in detention in Boosa camp. S.Sujevanendra and J.N.Jeyanesan were released unconditionally. Nadaraja Kamalraj and Devadas Prakash of Jaffna were released on bail with a warning that they should appear in court whenever the Court serves notices, legal sources in Colombo said.

S.Sujevanendra and J.N.Jeyanesan were arrested on January 1st this year and kept in Boosa detention camp under the Emergency Regulations.

Nadaraja Kamalraj and Devadas Prakash of Jaffna were arrested on May 31 at Katunayake International Airport.

Meanwhile, the Colombo Chief Magistrate further ordered the prison authorities to produce three other Tamil youths of Moothoor in Trincomalee district.

The youths, K.Moses, M.Basheer, and Yogeswaran Mohan, were produced in Colombo court from Boosa detention camp.
