Trincomalee market used as waiting room

The chairman of the Trincomalee Town Council, Mr. P.Sooriyamurthu, said that the Governor of the North-East provincial council had told him that he would find a solution to the opening of the Trincomalee New Market, after discussing the issue with the representatives of all three forces and all parties involved.
Mr. Sooriyamurthy met the Governor this evening in Trincomalee. It was decided during the discussion to use the building for passengers waiting, for the ship to travel to Jaffna until the new market is open The governor assured the chairman that military personnel will not be sent in ships along with the civilians, and they will not be escorted by the government forces. Sources said that there were indications for resumption of ship service soon.
