Aircrafts of the Air Tiger wing of the Liberation Tigers sprinkled flowers over the cemeteries of the slain LTTE cadres in Mulliyawalai yesterday morning, said the Voice of Tigers(VoT) in its morning broadcast today.

The main celebration of the Maaveerar week was held in Mulliyawalai, said the radio.

In the news review broadcast this morning the radio said that the anti-aircraft brigade of the LTTE was on full alert in Mulliyawalai area where the Tiger leader delivered his most anticipated speech to mark the occasion.

The anti-aircraft wing cadres of the LTTE were in position at key points around Mulliyawalai with the anti-aircraft guns and RPG launchers, the broadcast said.

The function was attended by a large crowd, who the radio said, were thrilled and pleased with the tight security arrangements the Liberation Tigers had organized for the occasion.

Soosai, Special Commader of the Sea Tigers paid his respects to the slain LTTE heroes at Mulliyawalai yesterday evening by lighting the oil lamp, the radio added.

Soon after the lighting of the oil lamps, bells were rung in all the places at the same time as a sign of respect for the dead.

13,233 LTTE cadres have been killed so far, the radio said.
