Tamil trader shot dead in Ka'luvaangchchikudi

Two unidentified gunmen on motorcycle shot and killed a shop keeper Sunday around 7:35 p.m at his house in Ka'luvaangnchikudi police division in Batticaloa district, sources in Batticaloa said.

The victim was identified as Ethirmanasingam Nadesamoorthy, 35, a father of 3 children from Eruvil Amman Koayiladi in Ka'æuvaangchikudi.

The killers shot dead Nadesamoorthy with pistols when he was home with his family.

Motive of the killing is not known, the police said.

Police recovered the body Monday and handed it over to Ka'luvaangchikudi hospital for inquest.

Ka'luvaangchikudi police are investigating into the killing.

Ka'lvaangchikudi is located 30 km south of Batticaloa town.
