Five youths arrested in Gampaha

Sri Lanka police took five youths, three Tamils and two Sinhalese, into custody in a cordon and search operation conducted in parts of Gampaha town from Wednesday until Thursday morning. Police said the five were arrested after they failed to prove their identity.

The youths had come to Gampaha town in search of employment, sources said.

All of the arrested are now being detained at Gampaha police station and are being interrogated, sources said.
