Christian priests arrested in Colombo

Three members of Christian clergy, two of them Indians and the third a Sri Lankan, were arrested on Thursday afternoon around 1:00 p.m. when they were allegedly taking photographs of the Sri Jayawardhanapura Parliamentary Complex. Police personnel who were on duty at the parliamentary complex arrested them and handed the clergy to the Welikada police, media sources said.
The police seized video camera and cellphone from these priests who were later identified as Walter Rajamany of Kotahena in Colombo, and the other two Indians, Karupusamy Samuel Jebaraja of Thirunelvely and Jeyabal Jeyam Ranjit of Balaji Nagar in Chennai. They are now being detained at Welikada police and interrogated. The police said that they would be produced in court after preliminary inquiry.
