Eighteen detainees freed

Ten detainees among the 47 arrested in the Oddusuddan area have been sent to Rehabilitation Centres at Pitunwewa and Borelasgamuwa sources said today. Eighteen have been released after inquiries. Sources said that the rest of the arrested are detained for further inquiries.

Following are the detainees were sent to Rehabilitation Centres:

Thirunavukkarasu Ramesh (Vinthan)
Kumaarasamy Santhirakumar
Periyanthan Selvakumar (Thaya)
George Paul (Richard)
Kumaarasamy Vijayakumar
Vallipuram Kunabalasingam (Kunam)
Selvadurai Muthulingam
Sinnakutty Jeyaseelan
Markandu Kulavaani (Vaani ) has been sent to Borelasgamuwa

Civil authorities said that the SLA has brought 724 persons belonging to 239 families from Oddusuddan to Vavuniya. They are now in a transit camp at the Goodshed Road in Vavuniya and are being looked after by civil authorities.
