Body washed ashore

A highly decomposed body washed ashore around 11 a.m. this morning in Erukkalampiddy in the Mannar island today. This is the third to wash ashore in the Mannar island since last week.

One was found in Erukkalampiddy and the other at Pesalai.

Sri Lankan Police sources in Mannar said that the bodies could be those of Indian fishermen or Tigers or civilians crossing over to India.

Mannar acting magistrate Caius Feldano told the Police to hand over the body to the Mannar hospital.
