Ex-paramilitary shot, injured in Akkaraipattu

Unidentified gunmen riding on a motorbike shot and seriously injured a former Muslim member of paramilitary Karuna group, Sunday around 7:10 p.m, at Fiscal Road in Akkaraipattu police division in Ampaa’rai district, sources in Ampaa'rai said.
The injured is identified as Adam Lebbai Issadeen alias Bowser, 38, a resident of A. V. V Street in Akkaraipattu 06, in Ampaa’rai district. The victim, hit on his head and in a critical condition, was rushed to Akkaraipattu Base hospital, and later transferred to Ampaa’rai hospital for further treatment. Adam Lebbai was on his way to the private medical centre located close to his residence, on his motor cycle with two of his children. He had been operating as a member of paramilitary Karuna group before the rift between paramilitary Pillayan group commenced, the sources added. Akkaraipattu police are investigating into the shooting.
