3 white van abductions in Puththa'lam

Three Tamils were abducted by unidentified men in Puththa'alm Saturday afternoon and Sunday, sources in Puththa'lam said. One was abducted by gunmen in a white van Sunday, and the other two Saturday afternoon while travelling in an auto-rickshaw, also by men who arrived in a white van.
Nageswaran Sritharan, 39, was abducted by a group of persons came in a white van in Rahuman Nagar in Ve'ppamadu in Puththalam police division Sunday night. He is a resident of Jaffna and had been residing in Puththalam, according to complaints lodged with the Puththalam Police by his relatives. Meanwhile, two Tamil civilians abducted on Saturday afternoon at second mile post in Karuwalasgavawewa police division in Puththalam district along Puththalam-Mannaar road while traveling in a three-wheeler by armed men who
came in a white van have not been traced yet. They have been identified as Suthakaran, 34, of Killinochchi and Nishanthan, 24, police spokesman Ranjit
Gunasekara said in Colombo Monday. Both were abducted when Suthakaran was transporting Nishanthan in his three wheeler to Puththalam base hospital for treatment.
