Student reported missing found dead in Batticaloa

Batticaloa police recovered Wednesday around 10:30 a.m. the body of a youth reported missing since Monday, along Naavaladi Lake in Batticaloa police division, with severe assault injuries. The youth was reported missing after going on his motor cycle to Kadalaadchi Amman Temple festival Monday, according to the complaint.

The victim was identified as Antonyraj Vithumsemraj, 18, an external student of Eastern University and a resident of Chelvanaayakam Veethi in Batticaloa.

Batticaloa police, on receiving information Wednesday morning from the residents along Naavaladi Lake, recovered the body of Mr. Antonyraj from the lake located near Kadalaadchi Amman temple.

The body was kept at Batticaloa Teaching Hospital.

Naavaladi is located 3 km east of Batticaloa city.
