Jaffna student reported missing in Colombo

A 20-year Tamil youth from Jaffna, staying with his aunt in Wellawatte in Colombo, has been reported missing since June 26, according to complaints lodged with the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) and International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) by relatives.
Aruleeswaran Narputhan was staying with his aunt at Victoria Court located along Perera lane in Wellawatte. Narputhan has been selected to the Jayawardhanapura University and waiting for the admission letter. His father Ponnaiah Aruleeswaran too had lodged complaints with Jaffna police, Human Rights Commission in Jaffna and the International Committee of Red Cross. Narputhan is the only son of Ponniah and an old student of Jaffna St. John's College. The victim's aunt has also made a complaint to Sri Lankan Deputy Minister for Vocational Training and Industrial Education, P. Rathakrishnan. Mr. Rathakrishnan has informed about the missing student to all police stations in Colombo and the Director, Terrorism Investigating Division.
