Hassan Ali takes oaths as UNP national list parliamentarian

Hassan Ali, general secretary of the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) Tuesday morning took oaths as a main opposition, United National Party (UNP) national list parliamentarian before the Speaker, W.J.M.Lokkubandara in the parliament when it resumed its sitting.

Mr.Hassan Ali along with the SLMC President, Rauf Hakim resigned from the posts of MPs to contest the election to the East Provincial Council held on May 10. Both were elected to the EPC, Mr.Rauf Hakim from Trincomalee district and Hassan Ali from Ampaarai district. Rauf Hakim resigned from the EPC after attending one meeting.He took oaths as UNP national list parliamentarian last week.

Hassan Ali also resigned from the EPC last week to become a parliamentarian again.
