Police recover Muslim manís corpse in Kaaththaankudi

Kaththaanudi police recovered the corpse of a Muslim man Wednesday around 12:30 p.m, in Poonochchi area in Batticaloa district. Unidentified men had abducted the Muslim man 12 August and his body was recovered from a house in an area where Tsunami victims are located, Kaaththaankudi residents said.

The victim was identified as Amir Ali, 26, father of four children.

Police recovered Aliís body from a house in the housing scheme for Tsunami victims located in Daresalem, Poonochchi.

The body, after post mortem examination in Batticaloa Teaching Hospital, was handed over to relatives, hospital sources said.

Kaanththankudi police are investigating into the killing.

Kaaththankudi is located 12 km south of Batticaloa town.
