Two Tamils from Jaffna abducted in Puththa'lam

Two Tamils from Jaffna, temporarily residing in Puththa'lam, were abducted Tuesday from their houses located along Noor Mosque Road in Puththa'lam by unidentified armed persons, who arrived in white van. They are permanent residents of Maanipaay in Jaffna district, according to complaints lodged with the Puththa'lam police by their relatives.
The abducted males were 31-year-old Shanmugam Nimalendran and 25-year-old Subramaniam Sasikaran. Armed men went to their houses and called them out and took them by force in their vehicle. Nimalendran is the owner of a three-wheeler and Sasikaran came to Puththa'lam recently, relatives said. The abduction has created tension among Tamil population in Puththa'lam, civil sources said.
